Having been involved with dogs and attended dog shows for the past 45 years, we decided some 15 years ago that it was time to "downsize".
Until the mid 90's, we had successfully owned, and exhibited Rottweilers, and felt that it was time for a change. After some thought we were attracted once more to Pugs, a breed that we had owned previously in the 80's.
We were lucky at the time to obtain a bitch from Wendy Coates ( Myojo ), we adored her and I guess that was the beginning of a subtle switch from Yorlander Rottweilers to Yorlander Pugs in England UK.
She was, in due course, mated to CH Sheffawn Take That, and we were fortunate to produce a Champion in our first litter namely CH Yorlanders Charly Boy at Briditch, owned by the Hitchcocks.
Our Pugs, who are of course all house dogs, are primarily part of the family, and anything beyond that, in the show ring, is regarded as a very welcome bonus.
Over the past 15 years we are proud of the fact that there have been some 6 Yorlander Champions of which 5 have been home bred. Adam (CH Murbren Adam Son of Eve at Yorlander ) has proved to be a very successful stud dog, his offspring already winning in excess of 30 CC's . He has to date sired 3 UK Champions including litter brother and sister Ronaldo and Rebecca. In 2009 we were delighted to be awarded, Top Breeder
Top Sire
Top Stud dog
Top Brood Bitch
Breeder of the Top Pug
and in 2010 Top Stud Dog
Top Brood Bitch
We are both experienced judges and between us award CCs in Rottweilers, Akitas. Shiba Inu's and Bullmastiffs. We have been lucky enough to have been invited to judge, on a regular basis, at home and abroad and particularly enjoyed the visits to South Africa, New Zealand, Canada and Russia.
The dogs have always been a hobby for us, and first and foremost is the health, welfare and well being of the dogs, this has and still is our number one priority.
